Portugal wants to get Brussel's support in April

March 26, 2012

Portugal is been through a tough situation in this begin of the year. The country, as South America, had its crops devastated by the drought period. The losses are so big that the Department of Agriculture arranged a meeting in Brussels with the European Union to discuss the situation.

The reunion went well for the Iberian Peninsula countries, but the Portuguese must to return in April to get approved on the Counseling of Agriculture Ministers of the 27 member countries.

There, leaders should vote for or against helping Portugal with 300 million Euros as community aids for producers, so that they can keep working. The meeting would happen in 19th April and Portugal should make some reports to build a clearly scenario of the situation.
